Undergraduate Coaching Certificate Requirements
The Undergraduate Coaching Certificate Program is a non-transcripted certificate program. (The certificate will not appear on your Texas A&M Transcript.) The certificate will be granted solely at the discretion of the Thornton-McFerrin Coaching Academy. The requirements below must be 100% completed prior to graduation to earn the coaching certificate.
SKILL DEVELOPMENT
- Complete coursework related to coaching and developing coaching skills including fundamentals of coaching and a primary and secondary sport of choice.

- Sexual Misconduct

Weight Room Safety
- Mental Health Matters
FIELD EXPERIENCE
- Child Protection Training
- Sign and submit Expectations for Professional Behavior for Coaches.
- Complete 40 hours field experience coaching primary sport.
- Complete 20 hours field expereince coaching secondary sport.
NETWORKING
- Join Student Coaches Association (SCA) and remain in good standing ($40 annual dues).
- Attend 3 SCA events per semester.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Attend 4 professional development workshops each year.
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Meet with Career Development Coordinator once per academic year.
- Sign and submit Talent Release Form.
- Pay Certificate fee.
